Ric Duffield was born in Yorkshire in 1956. From a very early age he had a growing interest in art and by 1976 he had become a freelance artist.
Initially he specialized mainly in wildlife paintings.

In 1989 he was appointed as Head of Scenic Art for a design company. Based in Leeds, his work took him further afield and revolved mainly around museums and television. Working for The Royal Armouries, The Royal Shakespeare Museum and the Tower of London amongst many other prestigious museums and retail outlets including Harrods.

In 2000 he gave up his job to concentrate on his art and is currently enjoying working on a series of seascapes that capture the very essence of changing light and dramatic atmosphere.
