Peter Jay studied painting at Beckenham and at St Martin’s Schools of Art.

After a short spell in Advertising and a rather longer period in the ‘Rag Trade’, he moved to the country and devoted himself full-time to painting, living in a converted Oast house near Rye in East Sussex.

Specialising in wild flowers, the beautiful countryside where he lives provides endless inspiration for his highly detailed acrylics of the area between Romney Marsh and the South Downs.

Exhibitions of his work have been held both in London and the South East and his paintings have been accepted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition on four occasions.
