Gabriel Deschamps is known for his beautiful landscape painting, especially of areas in the South of France depicted in an extraordinary fresh technique, conveying a particular note of sunshine and strong light.

He was born in 1919 and studied at the `Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts' in Paris. From 1939 until 1945 he was a state Art Professor, and is a member of the Paris Autumn Salon.

Deschamps has held one man exhibitions in Paris, Algiers, Oran and Casablanca, and his works are represented in important private collections in Switzerland, Belgium, Brazil, U.S.A. and the Argentine. One of his paintings has also been acquired by the Casablanca Art Gallery.
