Eichinger was born in Vienna in 1922, where he attended the local High School and took a number of courses in lithography which he intended to pursue as a profession.

As a young man, Eichinger had always enjoyed painting and spent much of his spare time with brushes in his hand, producing a variety of subjects, but, it was not until after World War II, that he was to devote himself entirely to his hobby.

His meticulous paintings of Austrian peasants, Rabbis and Cardinals have made him one of the best known portrait artists in Austria. His works have become much sought after by collectors throughout the world and are a constant source of wonder with the fine brush strokes depicting every hair and whisker of the characters he portrays.

Eichinger's works have featured in a number of exhibitions and are considered to be amongst the finest of their type.
